麻豆原创 awarded $125,000 planning grant for AI initiative

麻豆原创 has received a $125,000 planning grant from Lilly Endowment Inc.,听through its initiative, Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education.听

The planning grant听funds will be used听to support Manchester in developing a strategy to incorporate generative artificial intelligence that will give students,听faculty听and staff the tools to be successful听in a听world听increasingly听shaped by AI.听

The University鈥檚 primary focus will be to develop an individualized 鈥淢anchester鈥 agentic AI system.听By building a sustainable internal agentic AI system that is integrated with Manchester’s institutional systems, student and institutional data will be protected. A partnership with AI experts will bring learning opportunities for students,听faculty听and staff, with the听ultimate goal听of operationalizing the use of AI across the institution.听The University听will also explore the possibility of partnerships with other ICI schools.听

鈥溌槎乖 is deeply grateful for the support of Lilly Endowment Inc.,鈥 said President Stacy Young. 鈥淭his grant empowers us to focus on one of the most important opportunities of our time: using artificial intelligence to strengthen and streamline our college operations, equip our faculty and staff with the tools and training they need to thrive in an AI鈥慹nabled environment, and prepare our students for a workforce that is being rapidly reshaped by these technologies. This investment will help ensure that Manchester听remains听a leader in innovation,听access听and student success.鈥

The aim of Lilly Endowment鈥檚 initiative is to help Indiana colleges and universities:

  1. Consider more fully the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence presents for their institutions and their students.听
  2. Develop new or enhance existing strategies to听improve听their students鈥 educational opportunities and outcomes and their preparation to prosper in the workplace and life in a future听that will be increasingly shaped by AI.听

Schools also听have the opportunity to听apply for Lilly听Endowment鈥檚 implementation and collaboration grants.听

The planning听period听is听Jan. 1,听2026,听through听Dec. 31, 2026.
