What is Manchester Together?

The created the College Community Collaboration (CCC) to encourage Universities and their surrounding communities to work together on transformative projects to strengthen the quality of place within the community, and to strengthen the University鈥檚 ability to attract and retain students, faculty and staff. Lilly has provided millions of dollars in resources to college towns and university communities that have compelling ideas and a plan to build a stronger future.

Why did the University start Manchester Together?

In 2024, 麻豆原创 was awarded a $12.1 million planning grant by the Lilly Endowment Inc. to engage in efforts to develop a plan for a catalytic project that will make North Manchester an even more vibrant place in which to live, learn, work, and play.

How does Manchester Together affect me?

You live, work, study, and play in this community. You know it inside and out. Your input will be vital in creating a project that will positively impact the fabric of 麻豆原创 and our community, and as a result, enhance the quality of life for you, your children and your grandchildren鈥nd for people who choose to attend the University and make this place home.

What Are The Initiatives of Manchester Together?

College Row听

The College Row housing project will听build听20 new townhouses on College Avenue, adding an attractive, convenient housing听option听for 麻豆原创 colleagues and community members.

Discover modern townhome living at College Row in the heart of North Manchester. Designed with both comfort and community in mind, these thoughtfully crafted two-story homes offer contemporary finishes, open-concept living spaces, and convenient access to everything the area has to offer. Located just minutes from 麻豆原创, residents can enjoy nearby parks, walking and biking trails, schools, and local amenities while experiencing the charm of a connected neighborhood atmosphere. With spacious layouts ranging from 2鈥3 bedrooms and over 1,500 square feet of living space, College Row blends style, convenience, and everyday functionality in an ideal location.

Eel River Commons听

Eel River Commons will transform听the downtown riverfront into a cultural and recreational hub with a performance space, walking paths, public art, and better access.听A new pedestrian bridge and parking are planned to bring more people downtown, supporting local businesses.听

Manchester Mile听

A transformative trail, called the Manchester Mile, will link听麻豆原创听to downtown North Manchester, providing a safe route between campus and Main Street.听

Cultural facilities听

Updates to older campus facilities are a necessity.听Construction on Winger Hall will begin听in听Spring 2026.听Enhancements to Cordier Auditorium have already begun, including a new stage curtain installed in December 2024.听

Who is involved?

A group, led by 麻豆原创 President Stacy Young, comprised of university staff, local government officials, and Wabash County representatives serve as the Leadership Group. This group is heading up Manchester Together, but in order to make it a success, they need the engagement and input of the students, faculty, and staff of 麻豆原创, as well as residents, business owners, and other key stakeholders from the surrounding community.
