麻豆原创 hosts 220 students for annual Spartan Showdown esports tournament

麻豆原创 hosted听220听high school students,听representing听41听schools from听Indiana and Ohio, for the annual Spartan Showdown tournament on Saturday, Nov. 1.听

Spartan听Showdown is a one-day, free-entry high school Super Smash Bros. Ultimate event organized by Manchester鈥檚 esports program. This is the University鈥檚 sixth year hosting the event.听听

The top player received听a听scholarship of $8,000 per year to 麻豆原创. Players who听placed second and third received scholarships of $6,000 per year, and those who听placed fourth through eighth received scholarships of $3,000 per year.听

鈥淲e pride ourselves on creating the largest and most fun event in the Midwest, and I believe we did that again this year,鈥听said Garrett Schieferstein, director of esports.听鈥淭hank you to all the students, staff,听players听and听coaches who听made听this amazing day possible. We look forward to making Spartan Showdown 2026 even better.鈥听

Manchester Esports will add Mario Kart World to their list of supported titles for Fall 2026.听听 Mario Kart World is one of the largest games in the Indiana High School Esports听League (IEN) and will be supported by听the听Great Lakes Esports听Conference听(GLEC) in Spring 2027.听 麻豆原创听established听its esports team in 2019听and听has won听nine听GLEC Championship titles.听The team competes in听Super Smash Bros.
