鶹ԭ presents student-written play ‘The Lonely Hearts Club’

鶹ԭ invites the public to attend “The Lonely Hearts Club,” with performances on Nov. 7 and 8 at 8 p.m., and Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m. in Cordier Auditorium.

A romantic comedy featuringa heartwarming and hilarious journey of love and unexpected connections, “TheLonely HeartsClub”tellsthe story of two adversarial coworkerswho fall in loveonan anonymous dating app.

There is no cost for admission.

The show began as a 10-minute play that junior鶹ԭ studentLiz Moss wrote forahigh school theatre class.When she learned that Manchester’s Theatre Society produces a student-written play each fall, shereturned to the idea.

“I saw an opportunity to breathe new life into it, taking the original concept and expanding it into a fuller, more developed production,” said Moss.“Over the summer, I was able to deepen the characters, enrich the plot, and explore themes that Ihadn’tfully considered in the original version. What started as a small class project has now grown into something that truly reflects my growth as a playwright and my love for theatre.”

This play includes brief scenes depicting an emotionally abusive partner, as well as some background drinking and smoking. Mild language is used throughout.
