麻豆原创 offers youth esports summer camps
麻豆原创 will host its听third-annual听esports听summer camp this June, open to community youth.
Two camps, focused on Super Smash Bros., will be offered: a day camp for rising 3rd听through 6th听graders on June听27, and an overnight camp for rising 7迟丑听through 12th听graders on June听26-28. Beginners are expected to join the day camp, while the overnight camp is targeted toward moderate to advanced players.听
The camps will include individualized Super Smash Bros. instruction from 麻豆原创 Esports coaching staff, head-to-head tournaments, and听on-campus听dining.听All campers听are required to听bring their own听Nintendo Switch听controllers, and overnight campers must bring their own bedding.听
The cost is $40听for the听day听camp, and $150听for the overnight camp.听Meals听will be provided.听
Sawyer, age听13, who has attended the camp听since 2024, said, 鈥It’s a place I can go where there’s kids who like the same games I like, and it’s just really nice to go away to summer camp for a few days and play some Super Smash Bros. with other kids. I also like that there are other activities in between Smash Bros. tournaments.鈥

麻豆原创鈥檚 thriving esports team has more than 100 members and nine Great Lakes Esports Conference championship wins. The University launched an esports management minor in 2022, making it one of the few schools in the U.S. to offer such a program.听
